Golden Mustang Dual-Stage Highbanker

Two Recovery Paths. One Machine.

The Golden Mustang is a dual-stage water-fed highbanker built around one central idea:

Different material sizes should not all be asked to follow the same recovery path.

The system separates the recovery process around an approximately 0.2" classification point, directing larger material through the upper recovery system and right-hand wash chute while smaller material continues into the lower recovery system and left-hand panning channel.

Instead of asking one recovery surface to handle everything, the Golden Mustang gives coarse and fine material dedicated places to work.

How the Dual-Stage System Works

Upper Recovery System + Right Wash Chute

The upper section is designed around material and coarse-gold recovery above approximately 0.2".

Larger material interacts with the upper recovery structures before being directed through the connected right-hand wash chute.

This gives coarser gold and nugget-sized material a dedicated recovery path rather than forcing it through the same fine-material system used downstream.

Lower Recovery System + Left Panning Channel

Material below approximately 0.2" continues into the lower recovery section.

The lower system and left-hand panning channel are designed to provide additional recovery opportunities for finer material after classification.

The basic architecture is:

Feed → classify → coarse recovery path + fine recovery path

Two stages.

Why Split the Material?

Gold-bearing material is rarely uniform.

A single feed can contain:

• Larger rock
• Gravel
• Coarse gold
• Flake gold
• Fine gold
• Flour gold
• Black sand and other heavy minerals
• Fine sediment

Those materials behave differently in moving water.

The Golden Mustang is designed to separate the workload so that larger and smaller fractions are not competing for the same recovery environment.

That does not mean setup stops mattering.

Actual recovery still depends on:

• Water volume and velocity
• Highbanker angle
• Feed rate
• Material classification
• Gold size and shape
• Clay content
• Black-sand concentration
• Recovery-mat selection
• Operator tuning

The Mustang gives you two recovery paths. You tune them to the ground you're working.

Water-Fed Highbanker Operation

The Golden Mustang is designed for continuous water-fed operation.

Once correctly set up with an appropriate pump and hose, material can be introduced into the system while water carries the classified fractions through their respective recovery paths.

This makes the Mustang suited to prospectors who want to move beyond small hand-fed sampling and into a more involved recovery system.

Mustang Mats Included

Every Golden Mustang includes its namesake Mustang Mats.

The Mustang mat uses a more aggressive recovery geometry intended for heavier material and conditions where a pronounced recovery structure is useful.

Because the recovery surfaces are removable, you can also experiment with other compatible mats as your material and field conditions change.

Interchangeable Recovery Mats

The Golden Mustang accepts compatible drop-in recovery mats from our lineup.

That lets you change recovery geometry without replacing the entire highbanker.
