FlowCore Foldable River Sluice
⚠ Orders Temporarily Paused — Next Generation FlowCore in Development
We're currently upgrading the FlowCore by integrating our Bio-Memetic Grass Mat system, manufactured in a TPU/PETG configuration, directly into the FlowCore recovery design.
The goal is to bring the riffle structure and recovery mat together as a more unified system rather than treating them as separate components.
We are not accepting new FlowCore orders while this upgrade is being completed.
We'd rather finish the design, test it, and make sure we're satisfied with the finished system before putting it back on sale.
The upgraded FlowCore is coming.
Portable Performance — Built for the Creek
The FlowCore was designed for prospectors who want a capable river sluice without hauling a full-length box into the field.
Its folding construction reduces the packed length to approximately half its operating size, while the center locking structure opens the sluice into a rigid working platform when it's time to run material.
At the creek, unfold it, secure it, set your angle and flow, and start working material.
When you're finished, fold it back down for transport.

Why FlowCore?
Foldable Design
At nearly 30 inches long when deployed, the FlowCore gives you a useful working length while folding to approximately 14.8 inches for transport and storage.
That makes it easier to carry into locations where a traditional full-length sluice can become awkward.
Central Locking Structure
The center section incorporates the folding joint, handle, and locking mechanism into the design.
Once opened and secured, the system is intended to maintain the sluice in its operating position while material is being processed.
FlowCore Riffle Geometry
The recovery surface uses HMO-designed riffle geometry intended to interrupt water flow, create localized changes in velocity, and give heavier material repeated opportunities to settle.
As with any sluice, actual recovery depends on:
- Water velocity
- Sluice angle
- Material classification
- Feed rate
- Gold size and shape
- Black sand and heavy-mineral content
- Overall setup
The FlowCore gives you the recovery structure.
The creek and your setup determine how that structure behaves.
The Next Generation: Bio-Memetic Grass Integration
This is the reason new orders are currently paused.
We're integrating our Bio-Memetic Grass recovery mat concept more directly into the FlowCore system.
Rather than simply placing an independent mat underneath an unrelated riffle system, we're working toward a configuration where the two recovery structures are designed to function together.
The Bio-Memetic Grass structure provides a dense field of flexible and structured recovery features intended to create additional opportunities for fine material and heavy particles to settle within the system.
The upgraded FlowCore is being developed around the combination of:
Flow management → riffle interaction → Bio-Memetic Grass recovery surface → concentrate retention
We will reopen ordering when we're satisfied that the updated configuration is ready for customers.
Why PETG?
PETG gives the FlowCore a useful combination of properties for field equipment:
- Good impact resistance
- Low water absorption
- Rigid structural construction
- Lightweight compared with many traditional materials
- Rust-free construction
- Good dimensional stability
- Suitable durability for repeated field handling
The material also allows HMO to manufacture complex geometry directly into the sluice instead of relying entirely on separately sourced components.
Assembly Hardware
The standard FlowCore hardware package includes:
- 10 × M6 × 16 mm screws
- 10 × M6 nuts
- 10 × M6 washers
Assembly Note
Apply an appropriate silicone sealant along joining surfaces before final tightening.
This helps create a watertight joint and reduces the possibility of water and fine material escaping through the assembled seam.
Allow sealant to cure according to the manufacturer's instructions before placing the sluice into service.
Built for River Sluicing
The FlowCore is designed for running naturally flowing water rather than requiring a powered highbanker setup.
Correct placement matters.
Look for enough flow to move lighter material through the sluice while allowing heavier material to interact with the recovery surface.
Too little flow can load the box.
Too much flow can move material through too aggressively.
Like any good river sluice, FlowCore works best when you read the water and tune the setup to the conditions in front of you.
Built Different. By Design.
We don't source the FlowCore from a catalog.
We design it. We manufacture it. We test it. We inspect it.
And the current upgrade is a good example of what that means.
We could keep selling the existing configuration while working on the next one.
We're choosing not to.
If we believe the recovery system can be meaningfully improved, we'd rather pause production, do the development work, and put the product back on sale when we're comfortable putting the HMO name on the updated design.
Customer and field feedback feeds directly back into that process.
That's what maker-direct means at Hobby Miner Outlet.
